Moira Macumboy was born on Thursday Island but has lived most of her life at Lockhart River. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Spoleto, Italy, in the exhibition Contemporary Indigenous Art of Lockhart River at the Palazzo Collicola (2007) and also in touring exhibitions in the USA. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions across Australia.
The following selection of recent work depicts the tropical plants and coastal landscape of Far North Queensland. Moira enjoys painting mangrove trees and how they look during different seasons and at different times of the day.
